Description

An easy drinking red from one of Bulgaria’s most celebrated Pinot Noir producers.

A delightful Pinot Noir with a bright cherry colour and fruity aromas of sour cherry, berries, wild strawberry, gentle spice and hints of bitter almond. Light to medium bodied with good acidity and delicate tannins. Plenty of character, this benefits from a slight chill before serving.

  1. Tom Bradley

A tasty, really ‘quaffable’, well rounded young Pinot Noir with a great Pinot cherry character.

I had it with a sirloin steak and peppercorn sauce and it went perfectly.
I’ve tried a number of less impressive Pinots from USA and New Zealand, and this Bulgarian bottle shows more recognised parts of the world how to do it at a good price with a ready appeal.

Toby Morrhall had to debate the Winesociety’s members when he made their Pinot Noir a little ‘rough and ready’, but a young Pinot should have a little edge, so when a producer gets it right like these guys at VIDA, you get a great balance of edginess with the smooth. And that’s a smooth edge!
