Light-footed and juicy with great freshness and bright red fruits. Soft tannins. Ideally enjoyed slightly chilled. Straightforward, lean and precise. A natural, low intervention wine that is unfiltered, reflecting all the characteristics of the local Carnuntum hilly terroir and grape varietal. The Zweigelt grapes are selected from Johanne’s 15 ha estate of varying vine age all planted at higher density (5000 plants/ha) to encourage fruit intensity. The grapes are hand harvested and then fermented spontaneously and aged in 500L used oak barrel
