A wine between 12.5-13.5% alcohol with more some intensity of fruit and stronger flavours than in a light bodied wine. Climate and winemaking techniques such as when the grapes are picked at harvest time, ageing, oak will affect the shape and boldness of a wine. With medium to high acidity and/or medium tannins, these are quintessential foodie wines. If your preference is for wines with a bit more body and concentration, then look out for these grape varieties: 2-3 year aged whites such as Chardonnay, Riesling, Gruner Veltliner and for the reds, Sangiovese, Garnacha, Cabernet Franc, Kekfrankos.

Unfiltered and with surprising depth at such a low alcohol level thanks to the masterful handling by Trapl of this diva St. Laurent. Bright red fruit, soft tannins, palpable acidity, a unique example of this rare variety. A natural, low intervention wine that is unfiltered, reflecting all the characteristics of the local Carnuntum hilly terroir and grape varietal. The St Laurent grapes are selected from Johanne’s 15 ha estate from 18 year old vines that are planted at higher density (5000 plants/ha) to encourage fruit intensity. The grapes are hand harvested and then fermented spontaneously and aged for 12 months in 500L used oak barrels. RS 1 g/l, Acidity 5.5 g/l.
